A video of World Wrestling Entertainment CEO Vince McMahon using the N-word has resurfaced after Hulk Hogan was fired by WWE over his racist remarks in a radio interview.
"What's good in the 'hood?" McMahon is heard asking Amy Schumer's "Trainwreck" co-star John Cena in the YouTube video, which runs 30 seconds. When he walks away past Booker T, the WWE CEO says, "Keep it up, my n----!"
"Tell me he didn't just say that," Booker T reacts to McMahon's use of the N-word, which appeared to be a pre-arranged part of a WWE routine.
In a statement obtained by New York Daily News," a WWE spokeswoman commented on the said video saying, "Surely everyone would recognize the 2005 segment was an outlandish and satirical skit involving fictional characters, similar to that of many scripted television shows and movies."
Recently, a transcript of Hogan's radio interview in 2012 was released, revealing that the WWE wrestler used the N-word. This caused WWE to terminate its contract with him. In its official statement, the company did not specifically mention the wrester's use of the N-word.
"WWE is committed to embracing and celebrating individuals from all backgrounds as demonstrated by the diversity of our employees, performers and fans worldwide," read the WWE statement obtained by TIME.
Born Terry Gene Bollea, Hogan was introduced to McMahon in 1979 by former National Wrestling Alliance world champion Terry Funk. On Nov. 17, 29170, Hogan had his first wrestling match in the WWF Championship Wrestling, in which he defeated Harry Valdez.
Hogan got his wrestler name from McMahon, who wanted him to use an Irish name. The current WWE CEO also wanted the wrestler to dye his hair red. Watch the 30-second video of McMahon saying the N-word here:
