According to Tech Crunch, Dmail also has feature that prohibits email recipient from forwarding the received message to others.

While recalling sent emails is not new, Dmail offers more features that previous services failed to offer. For example, Gmail has already its own Undo Send feature which lets users to cancel a sent email. However, it works by setting the time allowed to recall the email after it was send. If the email was sent past the configured time, the message cannot be recalled anymore.

Additionally, Gmail's Undo Send feature only works for a maximum of 30 seconds after the email was sent. On the other hand, Dmail can recall or even destroy any sent email anytime the user wishes.

Since the new Chrome feature is a browser extension, it means that it is not built into Gmail's interface. For users to take advantage of the new feature, they must first install the extension.

Once installed, the new feature will appear in Gmail's Compose interface and it allow users to turn the feature on or off. When the feature is on, user can then specify when they want the email to be automatically destroyed. Time option varies from an hour, a day, a week or never.

According to Time, the Dmail extension was developed by the same team behind the social bookmarking service Delicious. The team is also planning to expand its service and in the future will also support documents of varying file type such as PDF.
