LinkedIn has finally reinstated its tool in exporting contacts after upsetting million of its users. The company discreetly removed the tool on July 23 and asked users to request an archive of their data which normally takes up to 72 hours to be completed.

Users previously complained that they cannot wait for three days to get their contacts on LinkedIn. One of the features that was temporarily removed was "Who's viewed my profile," which upsets the users. This is not the first time where important features of professional users have been removed, Forbes reported.

Michael Korcuska, LinkedIn's vice president explained and apologized for what happened. He said that they did the necessary to protect the users from the third parties who are hacking the user's details.

The process might take longer than 24 hours but it was definitely turned on right after the system update. In few more weeks, users can expect to have another update just to make it difficult for the third parties who are scraping data of LinkedIn members. Korcuska also added that Scraping is against LinkedIn Terms of Service, Venture Beat reported.

The export contact feature of LinkedIn allows the user to easily export their LinkedIn connection in VCF or CSV file. This includes the contact which is manually imported and contacts made using the service.

LinkedIn is making the process as easier and faster in exporting contacts. They combined the two export options for a better experience.

LinkedIn was founded on May 5, 2003 by Reid Hoffman. It is the largest professional network that has more than 259 million members worldwide, including executives from Fortune 500 companies.
