Game publisher Square Enix has announced that "Rise of the Tomb Raider" PlayStation 4 and PC versions will arrive in the holiday season of 2016.

The game will head to Steam and Windows 10 by early 2016. The PC release makes a lot of sense, since Microsoft plans to level up its gaming features on the upcoming latest OS launching. But fans of Sony's gaming console PS4 have to wait until the holidays of 2016 before they could get a copy of "Rise of the Tomb Raider."

Xbox One and Xbox 360 versions of the game are up for release on November 10, 2015. It was announced during the Microsoft's Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2014 press conference that the game will be exclusive on Xbox 360 and Xbox One for a year, Game Revolution reported. Currently, the "Rise of the Tomb Raider" is officially being described as an Xbox exclusive.

The leading game developer for the game is Crystal Dynamics, and the game publisher stated that the latest entry in the iconic series for additional platforms give the company a strong head start for the game release, according to IGN.

"Rise of the Tomb Raider" is the sequel to "Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition," following the traumatic events of Lara Croft as she tries to find the reason behind the horrific situation she encountered on Yamatai Island. Croft goes to Siberia in order to discover the mythical city of Kitezh, and prove that the dark secrets of the world truly exist. Eventually, Croft will expose the dark side of Trinity corporation.

The game will be running at 1080p and 30fps on the Xbox One. There is also a rumor that "Rise of the Tomb Raider" will cost $39.99.
