Since the time Samsung announced its first Note series phablet in September 2011, it has been releasing successor models in September every year. However, in 2015, Samsung is adopting a new strategy by releasing its smartphones in August.

The reason behind it is the impending arrival of the iPhone 6S and the iPhone 6S Plus in September. In the recent quarters, the South Korean tech giant has struggled to compete with the iPhones. Hence, the company is aiming to release its new smartphones before the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus gets released, The Verge reported.
