The OnePlus 2 has been officially announced with very cheap starting price of $329 for 16 GB model. It comes with high-end specs like optical image stabilization enabled camera, fingerprint sensor, USB Type-C connector, and more.
The OnePlus 2 has a thickness of 9.85 mm and it measures 151.8 x 74.9 mm. Its weight is 175 grams. It sports a shiny aluminum frame and textured rear for better grip. The handset features a full HD resolution supporting 5.5-inch display. The display has been tweaked to deliver accurate color production.
As it was officially announced before, the OnePlus 2 is powered by Snapdragon 810 v2.1 chipset from Qualcomm. It will be complemented by 4 GB of RAM. The Android 5.1 OS is flavored with the in-house OxygenOS software, The Verge reported.
The 13 MP camera sitting on the rear side of the handset is enabled with Optical Image Stabilization and laser focus. It also supports 4K resolution video shooting and 720p slow-motion recording at 120 fps. For shooting selfies, the handset is fitted with a front-facing camera of 5 MP.
The rear also features the fingerprint sensor that is said to perform faster than the Touch ID fingerprint sensor of iPhone 6. It is the first handset to launch with USB Type C reversible connector and it supports 4G LTE connectivity. The rear panel houses a non-removable battery of 3,300 mAh capacity.
Like the predecessor model, the OnePlus 2 comes in two internal storage variants, 16 GB and 64 GB. The 16 GB model is priced at $329 and the 64 GB model is available for $389, GSM Arena reported. It is a dual-SIM smartphone that supports nano SIM cards.
The handset will come in a single color of black with sandstone finish. However, users will be able to customize its appeal by using Style Swap covers that will be available in different design options such as bamboo, kevlar, rosewood and more.
OnePlus 2 will be available through the company's invite sytem. However, OnePlus has promised that since it will be manufacturing more number of OnePlus 2 handsets this year, it will be much easier to obtain an invite as compared to last year.
The OnePlus 2 will be available in major markets from Aug. 11 in markets like the United States, Europe and India. The Chinese manufacturer will be launching the handset in more countries later this year.
