OnePlus 2 has been officially unveiled with several new features that are unavailable on the predecessor model.

The OnePlus 2 flagship has come to succeed the OnePlus One from 2014. Like the predecessor model, the new handset comes with affordable price tag. And also, the specs and features of OnePlus 2 can easily compel OnePlus One users to upgrade to it. Here are the upgraded features of the OnePlus 2 in comparsion with that of OnePlus One:

Metal Frame

The OnePlus 2 comes with a metal frame on its edges that give it a premium appeal. However, the older device lacks a metal frame, Economic Times reported.

Brighter Display

Though it sports a full HD resolution supporting 5.5-inch screen like the OnePlus One, the display of the newer model is brighter.

Better Chipset

The Snapdragon 801 chip that powers the OnePlus One has become obsolete. However, the OnePlus 2 features the most recent Snapdragon 810 chip that comes with octa-core processor.

RAM

The OnePlus One with 16 GB and 64 GB both come with 3 GB of RAM. However, the 16 GB OnePlus 2 is fitted with 3 GB of RAM whereas the 64 GB variant comes with 4 GB of RAM.

Camera

The 13 MP camera of the older model that comes with dual-LED has been upgraded with optical image stabilization and laser autofocus features. The new camera is capable of shooting better photos in low lighting conditions.

Battery

The older OnePlus has 3,100 mAh battery. However, its successor will be arriving with 3,300 mAh battery

Fingerprint Scanner

The fingerprint scanner is said to be faster than the Touch ID sensor of iPhone.

USB Type-C

The new USB Type-C is backwards compatible and it offers a data transfer speeds of about 10 Gbps.

Dual-SIM

The OnePlus One handset only supports single SIM card. However, the successor model supports dual-SIM cards, India Today reported.

Customization Covers

The OnePlus 2 comes in only one color option of black sandstone. However, users can choose from attractive StyleSwap covers for its rear panel such as bamboo, kevalar, black apricot and more. Such personalization options are unavailable with OnePlus One.
