Android fans just got a fresh peek of one of the Google Nexus 2015 models prior to its release date. A supposedly leaked photo of the flagship back cover hinted a few things about the device and more importantly its builder - LG in this case.

Tech blog site 9to5Google picked the latest scoop from gadget leaker @OnLeaks that allegedly showed the next Nexus back plate (image of which can be viewed here). In the same report, LG got another confirmation that it is indeed assembling one of the Nexus 2015 phones to come out in the next few months.

But @OnLeaks made a strange claim, saying that LG will be responsible for the model known for now as the Nexus Angler. Previously, it was widely reported that there indeed will be two Nexus smartphones - the 5.2-inch Bullhead and the 5.7-inch Nexus Angler. The first is said to be a project that Google has given to LG.

The phablet-size Angler, on the other hand, has been entrusted to Huawei.

It appears now that nothing is definite for both the Bullhead and Angler and going by the new development, any of LG or Huawei can take on any of the Nexus smartphone models. Or Android might just end up getting one flagship phone like in the past years.

Regardless, the pic from @OnLeaks roughly revealed of a big camera sensor for the Nexus Angler as shown by the round hole at the center of the back plate. Another cut out on the left side is likely the camera flash as represented by a square hold with rounded corners. Right beneath the cam sensor is probably the fingerprint sensor, which is in line with Google's earlier declaration that biometrics will be natively supported in the Android M-powered next Nexus.

Many Android fans are convinced that Google has designed the feature to be accessed from the rear portion of the device as the Nexus phone traditionally has no physical home button.

The same 9to5Google report also identified the general control key and port configurations for the Nexus phone that LG will soon unbox. The power/lock button should be on the right side and right below is the volume controller.

It was also apparent from the photo that a headphone jack will be on the top edge of the device while the cut outs on the bottom edge seem to show a USB port on the center and on the right side, a likely speaker.

As mentioned by @OnLeaks, what he has is raw material so no Nexus logo was imprinted on the back cover. It is possible too that the second round hole may not end up as a fingerprint reader but a placement for the Nexus Angler builder. The leaker says it will be LG.

If the rumors will prove true, LG's mass production of its version of the Nexus 2015 should already be underway and the release date of the device could happen by late September, which reports said is an unpacking that will also deliver Android M.
