Further users of the app will find that iconic passages from the books which relate to the HBO TV show can be read without stumbling on possible spoilers.

The app which aims to introduce the written word to fans of the TV show is being marketed by the publisher as a bridge product according to Entertainment Weekly.

As reported by the publication users indicate to the app at which point in the series they are and the app will then pull up options for extracts from the "A Song Of Ice And Fire" saga  which covers scenes that viewers may have already come across.

The app will toss up handy maps of Westeros, and the extracts will take users between 10 to 25 minutes to read, according to a spokesperson for Harper Collins who told the publication the extracts will enable users to relive moments from the show.

The mystical fantasy tale which has taken TV by storm is based on Martin's work. The author is said to be a partner in the newly released app which publishers feel will draw in more readers of the five book saga to experience its rich literary beginnings.
