HBO has changed the title of its upcoming series produced by Mick Jagger and Martin Scorsese from "History of Music" to "Vinyl." The rock-and-roll drama will not focus on Rolling Stones, according to an HBO exec.

On July 30, Thursday, HBO programming president Michael Lombardo attended the Television Critics Association summer press tour where he revealed Jagger's band will not be the focus of the upcoming series. At a panel, clips from "Vinyl" and another new series "Westworld" were shown by HBO. Both series will premiere in 2016, USA Today has learned.

"Westworld" stars Ed Harris opposite Ben Barnes and Ingrid Bolso Berdal while "Vinyl" stars Bobby Cannavale as a music executive named Richie Finestra. The series is set in 1972 when the members of the Rolling Stones were at the peak of their career.

But instead of focusing on the band's frontman, it will focus on his son James Jagger, who will play a musician named Kip Stevens. On July 29, Wednesday, James was spotted with guitar in hand while filming scenes for "Vinyl" in East Village, Manhattan, Entertainment Tonight reported.

Joining Cannavale and the Rolling Stones frontman's son in the "Vinyl" cast are "Allegiance" actor Paul Ben-Victor, "The Good Wife" actor J.C. Mackenzie, "Everybody Loves Raymond" alum Ray Romano, "My Bakery in Brooklyn" actor Griffin Newman,  "Black Mass" star Juno Temple and "BoJack Horseman" actress Olivia Wilde, among others.

Temple and Wilde previously co-starred in "Meadowland," which was directed by Reed Morano and written by Chris Rossi. The drama film also starred Elisabeth Moss, Luke Wilson, Ty Simplkins, Giovanni Ribisi, John Leguizamo,  Nick Sandow, Kevin Corrigan, Merritt Wever and Yolonda Ross, among others.
