With The Taken King DLC, "Destiny" fans can now face the Hive head-on. This is not just in battle, but also on more complex grounds with the Dreadnaught.

For this week's blog update, Bungie has given a few more details about Hive's spaceship and its development. The main idea when it came to the overall design was to find the right appearance for the Dreadnaught-one where it is both a daunting ship and a fascinating place for "Destiny" players.

It was an incredibly fun challenge to find the right balance between a mysterious tomb ship and the flagship for the Taken fleet-to capture the idea of this unfathomable threat, a monstrous spaceship captained by the Taken King, yet filled with vast caverns and unknown passages," said Bungie Senior Artist Andrew Hopps via the official Bungie website.

Bungie has provided a few screenshots of both the concept art and the in-game scenes of several areas of Dreadnaught. The most noticeable change can be seen in the ethereal quality of the areas, giving a more unsettling quality to them. In the concept artworks, the areas had a more solid feel similar to those in big factories with heavy machineries.

Like other areas in "Destiny," the Dreadnaught contains a lot of secrets and loot for players to explore. The developer aim to use this, combined with the mysterious appeal of the design, to entice players in visiting the Dreadnaught again and again.

Apart from the new site, Bungie also shared one particular enemy in a Strike on Dreadnaught. Dubbed as Darkblade, he is a heavy-set monster that looks very formidable with his armor, axe and all.

For now, Sony has already opened the preorders for its limited edition "Destiny" The Taken King PS4 bundle, as announced via the PlayStation Blog. The bundle is priced at $399.99 and it will include the limited edition white "Destiny" PS4 console, the "Destiny" The Taken King Legendary Edition and additional content from the Legendary and Digital Collector's editions.

The release date of the bundle is still on Sept. 15, when The Taken King expansion will also be available.
