The clamor for a "Resident Evil 2" remake has made a difference. Producer of the "Resident Evil HD" remaster Yoshiaki Hirabayashi has already submitted a pitch to Capcom to create the much-requested remake.

Hirabayashi announced that he not only finished putting together the ideas for the "Resident Evil 2" remake, but also presented the broad strokes of the project, Gematsu reported. The title of the project is still currently dubbed in its Japanese version "Biohazard 2," but there is already the subtitle "New Rebirth Project" included.

There was no update or mention of what will be the next steps following the pitch, or if the pitch had amounted to anything in terms of development of the actual "Resident Evil 2" remake.

Still, this is a pretty fast, but good development since Capcom opened a mini forum in its official Facebook page in July. The company asked fans why they are interested in the development of a remake for "Resident Evil 2."

Capcom's Research and Development Division was in charge of the forum, where it asked the opinions of fans as to what they think the identity of the brand and the "Resident Evil 2" remake should be, Polygon reported. Gamers participated in the forum voicing their interest in the project. The forum basically showed that Capcom sees the immense interest that fans have in the remake.

It appears that Hirabayashi was also alerted by Capcom about the little survey that it conducted. He shared that he was challenged by his boss, asking him if he would be able to create a game that would be worthy of the kind of passion and interest that the fans have expressed.
