Microsoft and game developer The Coalition announced that four other "Gears of War" titles will be released in the Xbox 360 that are backwards compatible on the Xbox One.

Microsoft announced via the Xbox Wire that the four titles are "Gears of War," "Gears of War 2," "Gears of War 3" and "Gears of War: Judgment". Game DVR, the Snap feature and screenshots will be enabled for the titles. In addition, other saved files, add-ons and achievements will be available regardless of the Xbox platform that a player is using, all through the use of the Xbox Live.

The push for backwards compatible games on the Xbox One is not just limited to the "Gears of War" collection. Xbox's Major Nelson tweeted via his official Twitter that there is another title from the Xbox 360 collection of games that's up for backwards compatibility.

One advantage of those in the Xbox One preview program is that they can already play the backwards compatible "Gears of War" of 2006 on the Xbox One, but also "Shadow Complex." Both of these are available for play as early as Aug. 3, without having to wait for the actual launch of the backwards compatibility feature this fall.

The Xbox One version for "Gears of War: Ultimate Edition" is worth getting, if only for the redone cut scenes and graphics, IGN reported. A comparison between the two versions of the game can be seen in the link above.

Gamers should note that the option is only available at the moment for those who are part of the Xbox One preview program. As far as the previously mentioned Xbox 360 titles coming with the "Gears of War: Ultimate Edition," these will be backwards compatible once the feature rolls out to all Xbox One users.
