Daniel Bryan may never return to the WWE after suffering several injuries throughout his wrestling career.
The former World Heavyweight Champion has hinted that he may not return to the WWE ring anymore but that is not his decision.
After suffering several setbacks in his career, Bryan faced another problem when he was forced to undergo a neck surgery earlier last year. The wrestler was diagnosed with a nerve issue that had been lingering for some time which needed medical attention, noted a May 2014 WWE report.
Since then, fans have seen little of the star on WWE television and his health is to blame.
According to Bryan, his absence from the WWE is not only because of the his neck problem, but a concussion issue, The Inquisitr noted. He also acknowledges that the wrestling entertainment may never allow him to fight again because of this, but he will continue wrestling elsewhere.
"Yes, there is that chance [WWE may never clear me to wrestle]. But I told them, regardless of them, if they won't clear me, we're independent contractors, in theory, and I will wrestle again," Bryan explained, noted The Inquisitr.
"You have to understand that WWE is not only looking out for my best interest, but they have to look out for their company as well, and I understand all that, too...I had a sit-down with Vince [McMahon] and Hunter about this and said, 'Hey, this is my passion. I understand why you guys wouldn't clear me, but we only get, as far as we know, one life. And you're not going to let me do my passion.'"
Bryan started wrestling for independent companies before joining the WWE.
The WWE has yet to comment on the issue and whether Bryan will still return to wrestle.
