"Kingdom" actor Frank Grillo is reported to be in final negotiations to reprise his role in James DeMonaco's "The Purge 3."

With the film commencing its film in September, Grillo's shooting schedule for Byron Balasco's television drama series "Kingdom" placed a conflict for the actor's return in DeMonaco's upcoming thriller film, as per Variety. Nonetheless, sources told the publication that the production team is handling the issue at the moment for the actor to be able to film both "Kingdom" and "The Purge 3."

In his interview with Cinema Blend at the press junket before the release of DeMonaco's "The Purge: Anarchy," Grillo said that if people went to the theaters and liked the film, then a sequel would be possible. Now, a third installment of the franchise is on its way to the big screen, as "The Purge: Anarchy" grossed $110 million in a global scale, along with its positive feedbacks from critics.

Grillo is known for his roles in Gavin O'Connor's sport drama film "Warrior," Joe Carnahan's action-adventure "The Grey," and Joe Russo and Anthony Russo's "Captain America: The Winter Soldier."

Aside from DeMonaco's "The Purge 3," he will next been seen in Phil Volken's crime drama "Extortion" and in the Russos' "Captain America: Civil War," in which he will be playing the character of Brock Rumlow, also known as Crossbones.

In line with its predecessors, "The Purge 3" is set in the future where the government sets all crime as legal for a 12-hour period, which is called "The Purge." The criminal activity is done one day every year.

DeMonaco is set to helm the film and pen the screenplay while Jason Blum, Sebastien Lemercier, Michael Bay, Andrew Form, Jeanette Brill, Bradley Fuller, and Brad Fuller will produce the film under Universal, Blumhouse, and Platinum Dunes.

DeMonaco's "The Purge" is slated to premiere in theaters in the United States on July 1, 2016.
