The Hustle, Loyalty, Respect wrestler has been out of the WWE spotlight after breaking his nose on Raw last week in a match against Seth Rollins for the WWE United States Championship title.

Cena received a knee from the World Heavyweight champ in the face causing the visually displeasing injury.

WWE.com has confirmed the injury and has since pulled Cena from his WWE engagements for the week.

"As you can see on television tonight, John suffered from a nasal fraction," WWE physician Dr. Steve Daquino confirmed. "He's got quite a bit of displacement, so we sent him over to the local emergency room so he can be evaluated by the ears, nose and throat doctor who's on call tonight and see what can be done to properly repair it."

Since the injury, Cena has undergone a surgery to correct breathing issues, and it was also reported that he may go under the knife for the second time for reconstruction. He has also missed Monday Night's Raw episode to recover.

While Cena's return will probably be just an appearance or promo rather than a real fight, the update is a welcome news for fans who have been waiting to see The Champ again. It may also mean that he'll be fighting at WWE SummerSlam 2015 this month.
