South Korean actor Song Seung Heon and Chinese actress-singer Liu Yifei are officially dating.
The confirmation came from the actor’s agency, Better Entertainment aka Better ENT.
Song, 38, and Liu, 27, first met each other in Lee Jae Han’s “The Third Way of Love,” a China and South Korea co-production and a film adaptation of a Chinese novel of the same title written by Zi You Xing Zou.
Liu posted on Weibo: "Although there's a lot that I want to say, for now I will upload two (then she inserted two heart symbols). Thank you everyone."
Better Entertainment said that neither of them introduced each other to their respective parents nor talked about marriage.
In the movie, Liu played a lawyer who fell in love with the character of Song. Even when filming wrapped, communication between the two continued.
Song was in Shanghai in June to grace the 18th Shanghai International Film Festival. Joining him on the red carpet was Liu.
Song started his career as a model in 1995, tried acting in 1996 via the sitcom “Three Guys, Three Girls,” and received his first movie break in 1999 in Song Hae-sung’s “Calla.” He was given a lead role in his film debut.
Playing one of the two male leads in Yoon Seok-ho’s 2000 drama series “Autumn in My Heart” paved way for Song to achieve his current star status. Written by Oh Soo-yeon, it was a huge hit in South Korea and in other Asian countries and made him a household name.
Liu will be seen in the Chinese-French co-production romantic drama “Le Paon de Nuit,” which is planned to be released in Feb. 2016.
Song joins award-winning Hollywood A-lister Bruce Willis (“Die Hard” series, “Armageddon,” “Red”) in Xiao Feng’s “The Bombing” to be shown next year.
For the meantime, Liu and Song might be seen in a restaurant or in a coffee shop somewhere out on a date.
