Several rumors are doing the rounds that the LG-made Google Nexus 5 (2015) and Huawei Nexus phablet will come with fingerprint readers.

According to The Korea Herald report, the Nexus 5 (2015) will be the first Google smartphone to take advantage of fingerprint recognition technology. The fingerprint scanner will work together with Android M which adds native support for biometrics, and will be used by customers in conjunction with Android Pay, Google's own mobile payment system.

According to G for Games, LG plans to equip its upcoming flagship smartphones with fingerprint readers, after first experimenting with the fingerprint recognition technology on the 2015 Nexus 5. It means that the rumored LG G5 and LG G Pro 3 will also come with fingerprint sensors.

LG is said to equip fingerprint sensors on in its upcoming device in an effort to catch up with the major  mobile phone manufacturers in the mobile payment game. Apple has Apple Pay, and South-Korea-based Samsung will roll out the Samsung Pay soon; however, LG plans to stick with Android Pay, which will be available to all Android M smartphones.

However, the Korea Herald report does not mention any concrete specifications for the 2015 Nexus 5 apart from mentioning that the upcoming smartphone will sport a 5.2-inch display. Reports suggest that the Nexus 5 2015 will be released in October. If this information turns out to be true, then Android M should be released at the same time since Nexus devices are generally released alongside new Android versions.
