Samsung once built the Galaxy Nexus, which makes the South Korean tech giant familiar with the pure Android world. While there is not a drop of clue at the moment that Google and Samsung will partner again on a new project it would be interesting how the next Nexus would turn out coming from the flagship Galaxy line up.

It's quite easy to push forward a few of Samsung models to fit the Nexus requirements but the best pick from the bunch should be the soon-to arrive Galaxy Note 5. Easily, the phablet flagship can beat any contender to the tight Nexus race because of the following:

The best components available

Specs-wise, Samsung's Galaxy flagship always carry the best available. Nothing is confirmed on the Note 5 but the likelihood is it will improve from what were seen with the Galaxy S6 - octa-core Exynos 7420 with 3GB of RAM, a Super AMOLED display panel in 2K resolution and Mali-T760MP8 graphic engine to fire up the device's sprawling scree. These are the minimum expectations and the 5.7-inch Note 5 is only expected to step up big time and if Google would allow, the Nexus 2015 will get the same treatment.

Sexiest Nexus ever

The duo of the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge are not only regarded as the prettiest Android smartphone around, the sexiest too notably the curved designed S6 Edge. It follows that in the Note 5, the design philosophy will be applied and Samsung has already confirmed that curved glass panel will be part of the device unboxing.

This indicates that aside from the Note 5, a Galaxy Note 5 Edge is in the works. But whatever Google would pick from the two jaw-dropping options, its decision to trust Samsung anew with another Nexus project would mean the possible release of the sexiest Nexus phone ever.

Superb camera specs

Experts would agree that the Galaxy S6 camera system of 16MP on rear and 5MP on front with the main shooter laced with optical image stabilization (OIS), auto-focus and LED flash is the best camera mix that one can get. But this early 2015 camera bet that became the king will soon be dethroned by the Galaxy Note 5 and when the same system is extended to the Nexus 2015 Google will finally fulfil its long-standing promise of delivering insanely great camera with the Nexus flagship.

Same storage configuration

It is very likely that the Galaxy S6 storage configurations of 32GB, 64GB and 128GB with no memory expansion will be carried over to the Galaxy Note 5 unboxing. Interestingly, the same is the pattern used by Google with the Nexus flagship thus making it easy for Samsung to deliver its flavour of Nexus phone in short notice.

Upscale fingerprint reader

Android M will natively support fingerprint reader with the specification that the hardware part of the mechanism must be of top quality. With such high qualification, Google needs only to tap Samsung. The latter's fingerprint scanner implementation on the Galaxy S6 earned praise for matching what Apple had provided with the iPhone 6. And the same system or even an enhanced version will surely find its way to the Galaxy Note 5 on its release date. Or on one of the Nexus 2015 handset models should Google look beyond LG and Huawei.
