The Apple Watch's sales figures have been disappointing, resulting in  criticism that it is hard to read and use, uncomfortable for the user, and too expensive as the priciest Edition smartwatch has a $12,000 price tag. However, the new Swatch Sistem51, which costs just $150 and is scheduled to be launched in the United States, Switzerland, and China this summer is simple and functional, which could make it a game-changer wearable device.

Slate has reported that the Sistem51 might challenge the Apple Watch. It will allow users to pay for products by tapping their smart watch on a contactless reader, according to NBC News.

The Swiss-made timepiece's battery also never runs out of juice since it is powered by the user's movements. In many ways the new Swatch device is the opposite of Apple's wearable. Swatch is one of the world's most popular brands, and rightly so. Take a look at the Swatch Sistem51 to see just how good a Swatch watch looks, and if you wear it on your wrist, you'll find out how good it keeps time too. The automatic gadget is innovative yet basic, and not grandiose enough to result in $112,000 luxury spin-off models.

The Sistem51 has just 51 movable parts, according to Mexico Ledger. That is about half the number of a standard automatic wristwatch.

Its target customers include people who are hesitant to spend big bucks on the Apple watch or a fashion wristwatch. The Swatch watch is basic, practical, and affordable.

Statistics show that millennials are spending less money on clothing and accessories. Technology gadgets are a bigger priority.

Swatch was founded in 1983 and is headquartered in Switzerland. Although the company produces various high-end timepieces including Omega, industry analysts have warned that its lower-end range of wristwatches are at a high risk of losing market share to the Apple Watch.
