Murray is known for his role as Dr. Peter Venkman in Ivan Reitman's "Ghostbusters" and "Ghostbusters 2." It was reported that he was convinced to join Feig's film upon knowing that Dan Aykroyd, who played the role of Dr. Raymond Stantz, is having a cameo in the film.

Murray is also recognized for his roles in Wes Anderson's adventure-comedy film "Moonrise Kingdom" and in Sofia Coppola's drama film "Lost in Transition." He will be seen in Barry Levinson's comedy music film "Rock the Kasbah" and he will also voice Baloo in Jon Favreau's "The Jungle Book."

The reason why Murray feared to reappear in another "Ghostbusters" film his that he did not want to dishearten fans, in addition to his feeling that the first film should not be topped, as per Cinema Blend. At this point, the actor can enjoy with the cast members, crew, and Feig's storytelling approach and the film itself.

"Ghostbusters" serves as a contemporary version of Ivan Reitman's 1984 "Ghostbusters," which is about three bizarre parapsychologists who commenced a ghost-catching business. Feig's upcoming film stars Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones, Kate McKinnon, Chris Hemsworth, and Neil Casey, among others.

Feig's "Ghostbusters" is set to hit the big screen on July 22, 2016.
