After quite the long wait, Tappers will now be able to build their own Monorail in EA's hit mobile game, "The Simpsons Tapped Out." The latest update has just gone live, and it brings with it the electric six-car Monorail.

Regular players of the game would know that either Homer or Lisa are usually the ones to start off the event. In this case, Homer needs to be free to start the first task of building the Springfield Dump, a free building, to begin the Monorail Event.

Be aware of the timing

The Monorail Event is patterned after previous "The Simpsons Tapped Out" events where there are certain acts to complete before moving on in the quest line. For the first Act, players will need to collect the Blueprints currency. This can be done in various ways, including having character earn junk, making use of collected junk to turn them into blueprints, visiting Springfield neighbors and tapping on the possums that are left by players' neighbors in the town, TSTO Addicts reported.

Unlike the Springfield Heights update, which does not have a time limit "The Simpsons Tapped Out" Monorail update is your regular timed event. Since its availability last Aug. 11, players will only have until Aug. 23 to complete Act One and get all the prizes.

Act Two will begin on Aug. 23, while Act Three will start on Sept. 4.

Use characters wisely

Much like the Springfield Heights update, the Monorail event will introduce buildings where characters can work to earn items that will be used in the event. For instance, the Springfield Dump will allow, Homer, Lisa, Milhouse, Flanders, Quimby, Cletus, Willie, Uter, Brandine and Dewey Largo to earn Junk at a rate of 30 seconds.

On the other hand, there are some buildings, like the Project Board and the Metal Depot will come later on following the "A Rail of One City" task and will also require other characters to earn required items. As usual, some premium characters will earn more currency items, so it is the player's choice whether or not to spend donuts to hasten the collection.

Watch out for prizes and daily challenges

"The Simpsons Tapped Out" Monorail event also features a daily challenge to keep regular players satisfied with prizes. Gathering prizes and meeting the daily challenge helps boost a player's currency, which is the Blueprint, in the case of Act One.

Meeting a certain number of currency will also result in getting the regular prizes for Act One, so it's best to keep collecting as much of the required items as possible.

Enjoy new land and the update

For those who are worried about packing in more stuff in an already crowded Springfield, the developer has also rolled out new land with the latest update. This comes very closely at the heels of another major expansion, which brought in the addition of Springfield Heights beyond the game's mountain range area.

Just last Aug. 7, EA teased the event via the official "The Simpsons Tapped Out" Facebook with the silhouette of conductor Homer. In addition, data miners over at TSTO News were able to find screenshots of upcoming prizes, characters and events. Fans were not expecting quite a lot of updates, considering that in the middle of the Springfield Heights frenzy, EA has also rolled out the newest level, Level 56, together with new buildings, characters and decorations.
