British singer Rita Ora has already expressed her desire to be part of the "Fifty Shades of Grey" sequel, "Fifty Shades Darker." However, her recent statements revealed that Universal Pictures has not tapped her for the part.
In an interview with Lorraine, Ora said that she is a huge fan of E.L. James' book trilogy and her character Mia Grey on "Fifty Shades of Grey." The singer cum actress added that she is happy with how Mia evolved slowly but surely in the three books.
According to Ora, she will be asked to return to the franchise, she will definitely say yes to the opportunity once again.
In "Fifty Shades of Grey," Ora's character Mia did not have a lot of scenes in the movie. However, the singer's statement about her character evolving could only mean that Mia will have bigger parts in "Fifty Shades Darker" and "Fifty Shades Freed."
Meanwhile, other than Ora, three new cast members have not yet been tapped to join the cast of "Fifty Shades Darker." As of late, the roles of Jack Hyde, Mrs. Robinson and Leila Williams have not yet been filled.
Other than these characters, Universal Pictures and E.L. James have not yet agreed on a director who will be in charge of the sequel. According to Design N Trend, "Unbroken" director Angelina Jolie and "Whip It" director Drew Barrymore could take the place of Sam Taylor-Johnson.
However, Jolie and Barrymore's inclusion into the crew could only mean more cost for the production company.
"Fifty Shades Darker" is slated to hit theaters in the United States on Feb. 10, 2017.
