As promised, the Moto X 2015 is coming out in early September with Motorola reportedly ready to start selling the near-vanilla Android flagship on the third day of the month. First to get the smartphone though are U.S. buyers who will unpack it as the Moto X Pure Edition.

Android blog site Droid Life got wind of a tweet from Motorola Mobility that says the third Moto X installment is all set to unbox in the United States but the same report was updated later, indicating that the announcement has been deleted. At any rate, there was no second announcement that rescinded the earlier declaration so it can be assumed that the 2015 make is good to go.

The Moto X 2015 will be the first major flagship to come out in the second half of 2015 and there are numerous reasons for Android and smartphone lovers to give the handset a hard look and perhaps take it home. Seven of these compelling reasons are provided below:

Stock Android

As indicated in the U.S. edition, the Moto X 2015 rocks Android on its native form with a few additional apps that users have grown to love. The same applies to the international build that according to Motorola will be packaged as the Moto X Style.

Now pure Android on a device means two things - no bloat wares and quick arrival of firmware updates and security patches. Motorola said that OS updates for its 2015 flagships will not take the circuitous path so users are assured of having the latest Android for the life of the new Moto X. The device will debut with Android 5.1 Lollipop but it surely is among the first to get Android M when the latter becomes available.

Unlocked and off-contract

Motorola is selling the Moto X directly to consumer who in turn can order from the company's official site or via Amazon and Best Buy. The device maker says that there is no tie up with telcos for this year's Moto X and that translates to absence of the lock-in periods.

Also, the Moto X is basically designed as a universal handset that mostly will work on network providers in the United States and elsewhere in the world with provision for superfast wireless broadband access.

Power specs

Headlining the Moto X is a 5.7-inch QHD panel, a Snapdragon 808 chip with 3GB of RAM and a main camera with a jaw-dropping 21MP sensor. These specs alone are testament alone that the smartphone has become more powerful than ever.

Up to 64GB of built-in memory with expansion option

The Moto X 2015 will be served in three storage flavors - 16GB, 32GB and 64GB but for users who need more space a microSD slot is available that can accommodate up to 128GB of extra memory.

Moto Maker

The Moto Maker is packaged with the Moto X that empowers users to personalize their purchase and wield a handset that suits their personality.

Power juice

Motorola is making sure that the Moto X will last long in a single charge and powering it up bring utmost convenience to users. The battery is a 3000mAh pack while device boast of Turbo Charging technology that promises swift energy re-juicing.

Dirt cheap for a flagship

Taking a page from the Google Nexus program, Motorola is selling the Moto X 2015 at starting price of $399 in the U.S. (sticker price for the Moto X Style remains unknown), which should be enough reason for pure Android fans to forget about the Nexus 2015 release date.
