Armani wants to follow the success of the David and Victoria Beckham underwear ads it made in 2009 with couple Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris as the new endorsers.
The classy underwear brand also wants to follow up the success of Calvin's ads for Armani luxury briefs, reports TV3. Daily Star cites a source who says Armani offered Taylor around $10 million to convince the singer to strip down to her undies.
However, the amount could increase three-fold if the campaign's global promotion would become successful. "Taylor and Calvin are the hottest thing on the planet right now. Calvin's adverts have done really well and helped the brand reach a different audience," Daily Star quotes its source.
If the 25-year-old singer and her 31-year-old boyfriend would agree to the offer, it would cement their standing as the highest-paid couple in music. The couple has a combined net worth of $146 million.
Calvin used to be the highest-paid DJ until he accepted the Armani offer and further added to his financial standing. E! News notes that Calvin's ad, showing him wear nothing except a black low-rise brief, matched David Beckham's level of hotness.
"Just look at his chiseled abs, sculpted pecs, and flawless bone structure. We always knew the Scottish music producer was a hunk, but hot damn," notes E! News.
Even Giorgi Armani commented, "Calvin Harris is a truly cosmopolitan, dynamic young man who is capable of attracting the masses with his music and energy." The designer added, "He isn't a model by nature, and this creates a more sincere and engaging bond with the public."
However, Taylor apparently has not said "yes" yet because her team is evaluating the offer "if it is the right thing to do" for her clean and role model image.
