The Google Nexus 2015 release date is all about two flagships, a new report said, or more correctly about two handsets previously seen by Android fans. But for this year's refresh everything is bumped up - design, build, specs and features.

Tech blog site uSwitch has attempted to visualize the Nexus 2015 in partnership with gadget leaker @OnLeaks and the effort produced two reports in which the devices were represented in 3D CAD images. For the most part, uSwitch established the point that Google will use the Nexus templates seen in 2013 and 2014, again affirming that two pure Android smartphones will unpack soon.

Nothing official is known on the two devices but uSwitch, like other numerous reports, is convinced that the LG-made Nexus 5 is making a comeback and the same goes for the Motorola Nexus 6 though Huawei is the chosen builder this time. So for the sake of having names to hold on to, the Nexus 5 2015 is now used for the 5.2 variant and the Nexus 6 2015 for the bigger 5.7-inch flavor.

The renders created by uSwitch and @OnLeaks are nearly identical and as expected share a number of key features. Both will have fingerprint scanners located on the rear of the devices that support two facts about the Nexus flagship - no physical front button which explains the back-positioned biometric data reader and fingerprint sensor on the device has been largely hinted by Android M.

A USB Type-C port will also part of the package and this drop clues on to two things - accelerated recharging time and superfast data sharing.

The two Nexus, however, separate when it comes to build and design. As expected the new Nexus 5 is the smaller but uSwitch said it will prove thicker estimated at around 8mm to 9.8 mm. While screaming as a phablet the Nexus 6 by Huawei is as thin as 6.6mm but the body curvature thickens a bit on the upper portion at 8.5mm. The additional heft is explained by the presence of the camera module on that portion of the device.

Then the Huawei Nexus 6 design is obviously distinct from its smaller sibling. The housing finish is only premium-looking but is painted white, which arguably is the most popular smartphone color option. While noting that nothing is confirmed about the device, uSwitch said that the Nexus from Huawei is the flagship model and the LG edition is geared for the mass market.

"We've got it on good authority that it will be a lavish, completely metal construction, in keeping with the fact that Huawei's phone is the flagship for the Nexus range," the uSwitch report said.

So the choice is easy when premium quality, inside and out, is the main object and what will easily tempt Nexus lovers into buying the 2015 edition - Huawei's Nexus 6 it is. Google is expected to unbox the both the LG and Huawei edition in early Q4 2015 though it remains possible that the actual release date will be earlier if the plan is to reveal the devices alongside Android M in September.
