Is the iPhone 6S retaining the 4.7-inch screen size seen with the iPhone 6 last year on release date? Or Apple plans to bump up the next iPhone to 5-inch flat this 2015?

These questions arose as a newly leaked sketch that reportedly came from a Foxconn insider showcased a drawing of a device that looks quite similar to the iPhone 6. According to G4Games, what was shown is rough sketch of a 2015 iPhone model that will be part of the September unveiling.

However, the device in subject is not the expected 4.7-inch iPhone 6S or the 5.5-inch iPhone 6S Plus. What was being hinted is an iPhone with a 5-inch screen.

The report did not mention a specific label for the device but offered key specifications - the display is in Full HD resolution, the main engine is the rumored A9 chip and the main camera comes with an 8MP sensor that is laced with a dual-LED flash.

It was suggested as well that the same device is the third iPhone model that Apple will likely name as the iPhone 6C.

It should be noted though that the 6C was previously associated with the 4-inch screen profile and is designed for Apple fans who prefer the iPhone 5S screen size but want to enjoy the upgraded specs and features of the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus duo.

Still, it remains possible that the plan is for a 5-inch iPhone 6S but the rationale for this device is yet to be provided.

Regardless, solid details should flow in soon as Apple is staging an event on September 9, which should be an occasion that the tech giant will use to reveal its new 2015 iPhone line up. There were talks that even if the rumored iPhone 6C will be introduced, the device, whether it is a 5-inch or 4-inch phone, will not be in stores until the first quarter of 2016.

But the iOS 9-powered iPhone 6S and 6S Plus will be different. Apple is expected to begin taking preorders of the flagships on September 11 then the actual release date will soon follow - specifically September 18 that involves key market destinations such as the United States, Germany and Japan.
