In less than a month, "Destiny" will see some major changes as it enters its Year 2 this September. Alongside this will be the release of its biggest and most game-changing expansion to date, titled The Taken King.

As such, developer Bungie has been rolling out some exciting news and updates on what's in store for players once the expansion launches. While Bungie is planning to detail the changes in a series of Twitch livestreams as it has done for the House of Wolves expansion, a teaser trailer, seen below, gives a glimpse of what will be discussed come the first livestream, Polygon reported.

Leading the changes would be the Light System and level cap, which will experience an overhaul. The main reason for the new system would be to make leveling up more dependent on one's attack and defense rather than the kind of equipment drops one gets. The higher the Light score a Guardian has, the better the damage and defense will grow.

In addition, allegiances and factions will play a bigger part in "Destiny" Year 2. There will be a weekly pledge to a faction, which will introduce new gear that are uniform across a specific faction.

The Taken King expansion will also introduce some new Crucible modes, which are actually some of the more requested modes from fans. This was revealed by "Destiny" Design Lead Lars Bakken in an interview with Game Informer.

The two new Crucible modes coming with "Destiny" The Taken King are Rift and Mayhem, each of which will introduce different highlights and mechanics. For the former, emulates the Capture the Flag mode, but with the benefit of rewards even without completion. However, there is an objective in the mode which is to get the Spark and bring it to the enemy's goal.

Mayhem, on the other hand, is dubbed as an all-super, all the time experience. Recharging weapons takes mere seconds so the entire mode will see players ducking and shooting very quickly and perhaps disorderly, as the name suggests. What Bungie aimed for this mode is to put out there a very unique and seemingly crazy mode to see how the community receives it.

More details are expected in the livestream. There will be three livestreams all in all, leading to the launch of The Taken King on Sept. 15.
