Fans of Square Enix' timeless classic role playing game, Final Fantasy VII, was made available on the Apple App Store today, causing nearly unisonic "ooohs" and "aaahs" within the gaming community worldwide.

The 1997 iconic RPG has achieved legendary status over the years, and was both a critical as well as a commercial success. The game was so popular that it spawned several spinoffs, including feature length movie.

The game is listed at $19.99, and needs just less than 2GB of free space on your iPhone or iPad. It is compatible with iOS 8.0 or later and is only available for the iPhone 5S or later, an iPad 3 or later, or an iPad mini 2 or later.

At E3 last June, Square Enix shocked the world when it announced that a long, almost demanded for HD remake was finally coming to reality. This shows how immensely popular the game was. For it to command a do-over, something that is the rarest of rare in video games, is remarkable.

Now gamers can enjoy watching hero Cloud Strife run roughshod over a high definition Midgar on the comfort and convenience of a mobile device.

The release is essentially a PC port of the game which is the same as the Steam version released a few years ago, with a few tweaks here and there. The game will however not feature customized touch controls as it has done with other ports of other games, but instead, will make use of a virtual joypad instead.

The game will however have slightly better graphics, and an option to turn off random battles and boost your character's stats.

Final Fantasy VII is one of the best selling games of all time, with an extremely passionate fanbase all over the world. It has been made available on multiple platforms and continues to rake in revenue today, nearly 20 years after it first came out.

Now, you can enjoy it on your iPhone or iPad.

I imagine quite a large number of people to be "busy" at work or at school this week.
