During the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus and Galaxy Note 5 launch event, Lovato talked about the Cosmopolitan magazine September 2015 issue cover, which she graces. The magazine cover features her wearing a slinky dress.

About the magazine cover, Lovato told E! News, "It took so much for me to get a place where I would feel comfortable enough to do that. If anything, it's showing all of my fans who know my story and my journey that I've gone from hating every inch of my body to doing a photo shoot in my underwear in front of the entire world."

Lovato added that it is more of statement to her than just looking sexy on a magazine cover. She added it is very important for her to show people that.

On July 1, Lovato released "Cool for the Summer," the single from her upcoming fifth studio album. She co-wrote the song with Savan Kotecha, Alexander Erik Kronlund, Ali Payami and Max Martin.

"Cool for the Summer" is a pop song filled with pop rock elements, electric guitar riffs and a synthesizer beat. It has been compared to "I Kiss a Girl" by Katy Perry.
