"X-Men Origins: Wolverine" actor Liev Schrieber has ignited fans' thoughts that his character Sabretooth will come back in the 2017 sequel to James Mangold's 2013 film "The Wolverine."

On Aug. 18, Schrieber tweeted a comment as an answer to Hugh Jackman's gym workout post. Tagging his co-star Jackman in the post, Schreiber asked if he also had to do the workout. In his talk in the Sydney Confidential podcast, Jackman mentioned some insights for the untitled "The Wolverine" sequel. The "X-Men" actor mentioned the "berserker rage," in which Wolverine shows his highly violent side that makes his the worst danger to his contacts. In addition, Jackman talked about fans' suggestions about Victor Creed returning to the film.

Meanwhile, it is highly possible for Sabretooth and Wolverine to share the big screen in Mangold's "The Wolverine" sequel, as per The Hollywood Reporter. This is because the sequel was reported to mirror the storyline of 2008's "Old Man Logan" comic book, in which fans will see an old Wolverine fighting in a world governed by supervillains.

Aside from his role as Creed/Sabretooth in Gavin Hood's "X-Men Origins: Wolverine," Schrieber is also known for his roles in Phillip Noyce action crime film "Salt," Wes Craven's horror mystery "Scream 3," and Raphael Bob-Waksberg's animated comedy series "BoJack Horseman." He is also set to appear in Tom McCarthy's drama biopic "Spolight" and in J Blakeson's sci-fi thriller "The 5th Wave."

Mangold is set to helm the upcoming "The Wolverine" project while "Green Lantern" producer and writer Michael Green is on board to pen the screenplay of the film. The film will be produced by Stan Lee and Lauren Shuler Donner.

Mangold's untitled "The Wolverine" sequel is set to premiere in theaters in the United States on Mar. 3, 2017.
