South Korean tech giant Samsung is taking the smartphone competition to a whole new level as the company recently announced that it will give current iPhone users a chance to try out its latest Galaxy S6 Edge+ and Galaxy Note 5.

According to CNet, Samsung is offering its latest devices to iPhone users for a 30-day test drive and they will have the change to try out the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+ with a free data plan. The report added that while under the trial phase, users are not required to sign a contract and the new promo is not locked into a single network carrier.

The South Korean tech giant is calling its new promo the "ultimate test drive." Despite the interesting offer, users can only sign up to the promo via Samsung's official website and they need to use an iPhone in order to complete the transaction. Users who sign up using a different platform like Android or PC are not eligible.

Industry analysts said that the latest marketing drive from Samsung is part of its plan to revitalize the already waning consumer excitement towards newer smartphone models. At the same time, iPhone sales are in decline and the tech market is overflowing with high-end devices offered at low-end prices.

Samsung suffered a four percent market share decline in the second quarter of 2015, according to a study made by Gartner. The same study shows that Apple's market share has grown from 14.6 percent to 12.2 percent. Despite the dip in market share, Samsung still remains as the biggest smartphone manufacturer in the world.
