The latest "Suits" season 5 spoilers for episode 10 summer finale hinted that Harvey's (Gabriel Macht) backstory will be revealed. Will fans get to see his mother again?
In an interview with TV Line, executive producer Aaron Korsh admitted that he had been hesitant of exposing Harvey's vulnerability. He shared that he was on the fence about including a psychiatrist (Christina Cole) on the show to help the lawyer cope with Donna (Sarah Rafferty) leaving him.
Korsh shared that they were stumped after filming the season 4 finale. He said that they did not know what to do next after Donna left Harvey. This is when his co-producer Dan Arkin pitched the story of Harvey going to therapy. Korsh admitted that he never thought that Macht's character would agree to seeing a shrink but after he came up with an idea that the psychiatrist could turn into Donna in Harvey's subconscious, he was sold.
The showrunner revealed that the summer finale will focus on Harvey as he tries to deal with the demons in his past. As he decides if he should stay or leave Pearson Specter Litt, he will be transported back in time when he found out about his cheating mother.
According to Fashion & Style, it is highly unlikely that Harvey will be leaving the firm. Given that "Suits" have been renewed for season 6, it only means that fans are eager to see him solving more cases with Mike (Patrick J. Adams). Viewers are also waiting for him to finally admit his feelings and start a relationship with Donna.
