In "The Strain" season 2 episode 8, Zach  is in danger because an unknown intruder is trying to attack him. Rumored to be after Zach is Kelly (Natalie Brown), his own mother since the latter was infected by the vampire virus. But, the TV series' protagonist Dr. Ephraim "Eph" Goodweather (Corey Stoll) will try to protect his son from the serious threat.

According to TV Guide, the horror TV series released a promotional video for the episode titled "Intruder" where it showed Eph trying to convince Zach that his mother has been changed into a different person. Eph also said to his son that his mother's goal is to transform him to become just like her, a monstrous creature.

Aside from Zach facing imminent threat, Episode 8 will also include the characters of Gus Elizalde (Miguel Gomez), Angel Guzman Hurtado (Joaquin Cosio) and Aanya Gupta (Parveen Kaur). The three were last seen in Episode 7 when they had an encounter with a strigoi, which is also known as an immortal vampire.

According to Variety, in the upcoming episode, Gus will try to persuade Aanya to close her restaurant business to avoid further danger. Fans should also watch out how the relationship of Gus and Angel will improve because of the fact that the two fought side by side in defeating the strigoi.

Furthermore, Abraham Setrakian (David Bradley) and Vasiliy Fet (Kevin Durand) will amp up their effort in trying to buy the book of "Occido Lumen," which was believed to contain information on how to defeat the Master (Robin Atkin Downes), an ancient vampire. However, they will face a stiff competition in purchasing "Occido" since the half-vampire Mr. Quinlan (Rupert Penry-Jones), is also after the book.

"The Strain," which was written by Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan, first aired on July 13, 2014 on FX while the season 2 of the horror TV series started last July 12 and is currently on pace to finish 13 episodes. Due to its stable ratings, FX renewed the show for a third season on Aug. 7 with a premiere date in 2016.

The horror TV series tackles the story of Eph with his team and their battle to protect the city and their loved ones from the vampires. Eph will try his best to defeat the Master in order to prevent the vampire's goal of gaining immortality and conquering the world.

"The Strain" season 2 episode 8 will air on Aug. 30, Sunday.
