The tech community was recently plunged into a serious discussion about the S Pen of the Galaxy Note 5 as many users reported that putting the pen backwards may cause it to be completely stuck.
According to Green Bot, if the S Pen is installed incorrectly, dislodging it will cause the pen to break the clicking mechanism thus rendering it to be completely stuck. Samsung is already aware of the issue and has addressed the problem in the instruction manual of the Galaxy Note 5.
However, many tech communities pointed that a significant number of real-life users do not read the instruction manual rendering them unaware of the problem.
The issue caught enough mainstream attention that it forced Samsung to issue a statement on BBC saying, "We highly recommend our Galaxy Note 5 users follow the instructions in the user guide to ensure they do not experience such an unexpected scenario caused by reinserting the S-Pen in the other way around."
The new design mechanism of the S Pen is a step away from its previous design. In the case of the Galaxy Note 4 S Pen, if it is installed the wrong way, the pen can slide up to a point where it no longer fits. Due to the absence of a click mechanism, an inch of the pen will hang out of the front which will prompt users to pull it without any issue at all.
However, putting the S Pen on the Galaxy Note 5 the wrong way does not have any negative repercussion on the phone's overall performance.
