Details for the upcoming movie "Fifty Shades Darker" continue to be scarce. However, recently there have been speculations that the film will have similarities with "The Hobbit."

According to IGN, there is a possibility for the film to be similar to "The Hobbit," but not necessarily in terms of plot or storyline. Instead, it could have something to do with the filming and production timeline of the "Fifty Shades of Grey" sequel.

Just recently, there were also rumors that "House of Cards" director will be tapped to helm the film. Although nothing has been finalized yet, it seems that Foley will also be in charge of directing "Fifty Shades Freed."

Meanwhile, there are also speculations that the two upcoming movies under Universal Pictures will be filmed around the same time. This strategy reportedly has something to do with the production company's budget.

In order to cut cost, "Fifty Shades Darker" and "Fifty Shades Freed" will be filmed simultaneously. The same thing happened during the production of "The Hobbit" and "The Lord of the Rings."

In other news, the filming for "Fifty Shades Darker" will still begin in January. This means that before then, Universal Pictures and book author E.L. James would have already decided on a director and the new cast members.

As of late, the roles of Dr. Flynn, Jack Hyde, Mrs. Robinson and Leila Williams still have not been cast. There are only rumors that Mrs. Robinson will be played by Charlize Theron and Leila will be played by former model Cara Delevingne.

"Fifty Shades Darker" will be released on Feb. 10, 2017 in the US.
