"NCIS: L.A." season 6 was sensational and full of action. In the final episode, fans realized that Hetty Lange (Linda Hunt) had lied to G. Callen (Chris O'Donnell) about his father being dead, and now that Callen knows his father is alive, more action is imminent.

Apparently, agent Callen will go rogue in season 7 that premieres in September. Callen will embark on an undercover project that involves looking for his father, CBC reported. Callen maintain his project a top secret not only to Sam Hanna (LL Cool J) but also the whole team of "NCIS: Los Angeles."

While Hetty requires that the rogue agent shuts down his little project, Callen is determined to the extent that he defies orders. For this reason, Kensi Blye (Daniela Ruah), Sam, Marty Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen), and other members of the team embark on a mission to stop Callen before proceeding further with his project.

Talking to TV Line, showrunner Shane Brennan teased that Callen will carry out his personal investigation.

"We discovered that Callen has been doing his own investigation into something," Brennan Said.

Brennan added that Callen will face Hetty and Sam as major obstacles on secret investigation because he refuses informing them whatever he is undertaking.

In the first episode titled "Active Measure," viewers will gain more insight concerning Callen's secret investigation. However, the episode will end before the skilled agent's problem is resolved.

"In the convention of this show, we lay a foundation of something to come, and it has a fairly key effect in the course of the season, in a double-episode," Brenna unveiled.

More news from TVLine reveals that as Callen is preoccupied in his secret project, Deeks and Kensi's relationship became stronger. In fact, Kensi is introduced to Deeks' mother.

"NCIS: L.A." season 7 debuts on Sept. 21, Monday on CBS.
