"Empire" season 2 will reportedly feature fewer scenes starring Terrence Howard, who plays the role of Lucious Lyon on the FOX series.

According to Page Six, putting Lucious in jail in the upcoming season was always the plan of FOX network.

"What they are doing is two-fold. They have him locked up so you won't be seeing him in as many scenes," an insider told the publication.

There are also rumors that a handful of guest starts have been tapped to appear on the show so that fans would not necessarily realize that Lucios will be absent in some episodes.

"But they are bringing in so many, I mean so many, guest stars and cameos that the average viewer won't realize it because there is so much going on," the insider added.

As of late, FOX and Howard have not yet reacted regarding the rumors.

Meanwhile, Howard's personal life is not going as smoothy as he might have wanted.

According to New York Daily News, Howard and his third wife Mira Pak are divorced. Howard's second wife, Michelle Ghent, reportedly sued him for abuse in relation to an incident that took place in 2013.

With all of these reports, it seems that "Empire" season 2 will feature more scenes with Cookie actress Taraji P. Henson.

"She's going to start dropping off from the flashback scenes and then they're going to have her guns blazing," a source said.

A new love interest for Cookie will also be introduced in the upcoming second season of the hit FOX series.

"Empire" season 2 will premiere on FOX this fall.
