The "Five Nights at Freddy's" movie adaptation may have been confirmed but details about its plot, release date and cast members have been scarce. What fans of the popular video game only know for sure is that Gil Kenan has been tapped to direct the adaptation.

According to Deadline, Kenan has gotten on board as a director, as well as a scriptwriter, for the movie. His most recent work include the remake of "Poltergeist" and "City of Ember."

As reported by VG 24/7, the director wanted to do away with using too much CGI in the live-action film. Kenan said that he wanted to use "practical effects," explaining that it would add a much scarier element. He teased that the animatronics will be constructed at the Henson Creature Shop.

Some fans are worried that the live adaptation would screw the entire dynamics of the game. They pointed out that not all video-game based movies have been successful in re-creating its visual appeal.

Kenan, however, assured fans that the team will be doing the best the can. He added that he has always been a fan of "Five Nights at Freddy's" himself

"I'm a big FNAF fan myself!" he posted in response to a fan.

"The depth of the game storyline is amazing... Scott is one hell of a world builder!

Kenan added that game creator Scott Cawthon will be very hands on in the film's production. He mentioned that fans need not worry about the adaptation, as they will make sure that it would have all the elements that made the video game so popular.
