According to Jobs N Hire, the husband of "Twilight" star Nikki Reed has been dropping hints via Twitter and Instagram that he will be killed off toward the end of season 7.

In one of his posts on Instagram, Somerhalder posted a close-up shot of his eyes and wrote, "Looking into the future, Love Ian."

The actor also posted a screenshot of "The Vampire Diaries" back in season 1. At that time, the CW series was regarded as the number one drama series on TV.

He captioned the photo, "The good old days... Look what was #1!!!!! Thank you for 6 years on the air!!!"

Meanwhile, "TVD" and Somerhalder's fans reportedly reacted emotionally to his post. Some of them speculated that the nostalgic post could indicate that the actor is now willing to move on and pursue other acting opportunities.

Fans also noted that it is very possible that Damon will killed off from the show because Nina Dobrev's Elena is no longer part of the series.

In other news, Damon will return to his roots in the upcoming "The Vampire Diaries" season 7. The actor recently posted a photo of himself looking exactly like Damon from season 1.

"The Vampire Diaries" executive producers Julie Plec and Caroline Dries previously confirmed that season 7 will be very similar to season 1, especially in terms of Damon's attitude and personality.

"The Vampire Diaries" season 7 will premiere on The CW this October.
