The voices of some of the most popular Chinese artists, including Golden Horse award-winning actor Huang Bo and top-calibre actress Zhou Xun, will be featured in the Chinese version of the 2015 animated film "The Little Prince."
The all-star cast will work on the dubbing of the film based on the renowned Antoine de Saint-Exupery masterpiece of the same name.
The fantasy animation is helmed by the critically acclaimed "Kung Fu Panda" director, Mark Osbourne.
The film premiered on May 22 this year in an out-of-competition screening at the 68th Cannes Film Festival.
"The Little Prince" is not a direct movie adaptation, but the title took major elements from the novel. The team interwove these with an original narrative following the story of a young girl dealing with her mother who has imposed over-loaded study plan on her.
The English version of the film was top-billed by James Franco, Jeff Bridges, Rachel McAdams, Marion Cotillard, Paul Rudd, Ricky Gervais, Benicio del Toro, Albert Books, Paul Giamatti, Bud Cort and Mackenzie Foy.
The Chinese version of the movie is slated for release in local theaters this fall.
"The Little Prince" garnered $3.3 million in its opening week in France, gathering the earnings from 727 screens. It debuted at number 2 in French box office.
In its second weekend, the film pulled in $1.4 million from 830 screens for a two-weekend tally of $5.5 million.
The 1943 French novel, where the film was based, has had over 140 million copies sold and 250 language and dialect translations.
More than 60 editions have been published in China since 1981.
