The movie adaptation of "Uncharted" has hit a few bumps on the road, causing a delay in its release date. Sony was reportedly having a difficult time looking for Seth Gordon's replacement to direct the live action film.

According to Christian Post, Sony has expressed interest in making an "Uncharted" movie since 2008. The project, however, has since been delayed when directors David O'Russell and Neil Burger backed out from the adaptation. Their replacement, Gordon, also decided to exit the title early this year.

The publication also noted that Evan Goldberg has begged off from doing the script for the movie, explaining that it would be just like any other Indiana Jones movie.

Speaking to Zap2It, Gordon previously claimed that the film adaptation would closely follow the video game's storyline. Although he said that the producers and writers will not follow each detail, fans will be happy to know that they will be doing the best they can to honor the franchise.

"There's some stuff that isn't in the game," he said.

"I love the complexity and frankly the sophistication of the storytelling in the game, and we aspire to that - but don't want to tell the exact same story"

It was earlier reported that Chris Pratt was offered the role as Nathan Drake. The "Jurassic World" star, however, passed on the part.

It was rumored that the actor turned down the role for his upcoming film with Jennifer Lawrence titled "Passengers," where he was offered a bigger fee. The Morten Tyldum movie is set to begin filming this September.
