The Salvatore brothers will deal with their Ripper mother Lily and her vampire-witch family called "The Heretics" in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 7. TVD executive producer Caroline Dries teases what kind of relationship Stefan (Paul Wesley), Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Lily Salvatore (Annie Wersching) will have in the upcoming new season of the CW TV series.
In a TVGuide interview, Dries teased that Lily's return and the arrival of "The Heretics" will cause Stefan and Damon to turn against each other. Even though Lily loves her boys, the Salvatore matriarch still has her personal agenda in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 7.
Dries explained that Lily is a villain because what she wants is against what her sons want in Mystic Falls. In Lily's mind, all she wants is peace and everyone in Mystic Falls would get along with her and "The Heretics."
"What I love about Lily is that I don't think we ever see her lift a finger on the show," Dries admitted to TVGuide. Dries further shared that Lily Salvatore has a way of being manipulative and calculating.
"She knows how to push her son's buttons," Dries explained. However, Dries teased in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter (THR) that Lily's manipulative plans on her sons will not destroy the bond developed between Stefan and Damon who spent 150 years together.
Dries further teased in the THR interview about the six "The Heretics" members. The fans will meet five of the members in the premiere episode of "The Vampire Diaries" Season 7.
Meanwhile, MTV News has revealed the three actors who will portray the male members of Lily's vampire-witch family. Jaiden Kaine will be portraying the loyal, mysterious, scary and weird Heretics member named Beau while Justice Leak and Tim Kang will be portraying the Heretics characters Malcolm and Oscar, respectively.
As for the three female Heretics, Dries teased that they will be a little posse of bad girls in Mystic Falls. "The Vampire Diaries" Season 7 will premiere on Thursday night, Oct. 8, at 8/7c on the CW Network.
