Almost a year after the first Moto 360 smartwatch was unveiled, Lenovo has recently sent out invites to a press event for the device's successor.
The Moto 360 release date is set on Sept. 8 in Shanghai, China, as indicated by the invites distributed by Lenovo, NDTV Gadgets reported.
In the invitation, the words 'It's time' is shown, together with an image of what appears to be the next-generation Moto 360.
As mentioned in previous rumors, the Android Wear-powered smartwatch would come with a metal-clad version, as opposed to first iteration of the device, which was the pioneer of cicular smartwatches.
In addition, the newest version of the Moto 360 will have a gold color option, which would be attractive for stylish smartwatch users.
For interested consumers who want to get more options, the Moto 360 2 smartwatch would reportedly get two versions, one with a 1.37-inch display, and one with a 1.55-inch screen, the Irish Examiner reported.
Reports also claim that the device would have a Moto 360 'Sport' version, which would be ideal for health-conscious individuals. This version is said to come with rubber bands of varying colors, NDTV Gadgets added.
Unfortunately, the latest version of the Moto 360 will allegeldy retain the 'flat tire' design, which means Motorola still has not figured out where to put the sensors in a circular wearable device.
