"Fifty Shades Darker" and "The Vampire Diaries" fans are in for a huge treat.

There are rumors that Ian Somerhalder could play the role of Jack Hyde in the "Fifty Shades of Grey" sequel.

According to Inquisitr, Somerhalder is fit for the role because he has given his character, Damon Salvatore, justice on "The Vampire Diaries" for the past six seasons.

In the book, Jack was described as a handsome and mysterious man who will get in the nerves of Annastasia Steele (Dakota Johnson). This being said, Somerhalder could be a good choice for the role because he has irritated a lot of women, and even men in Mystic Falls.

However, if Somerhalder will be tapped to play the role of Jack, the filming could conflict with the filming of "The Vampire Diaries."

Just recently, it was revealed that filming for the sequel will commence in February. Around this time, Somerhalder could still be filming for the seventh season of the CW series.

Meanwhile, it is still unclear whether or not Somerhalder will really be cast for the role. As of late, Universal Pictures and book author E.L. James are still busy deciding on a director to help the movie, according to Movie News Guide.

Other characters that have not yet been cast include the Mrs. Robinson and Leila Williams. Both women will play an important role in "Fifty Shades Darker" and will cause tension between Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan) and Anastasia.

"Fifty Shades Darker" is slated to hit theaters in the United States on Feb. 10, 2017.
