Robert Pattinson backed out from attending 72nd Venice International Film Festival that opened on Sept. 2, 2015 and will end on Sept. 12, 2015. According to a latest report, the "Twilight" actor decided not to attend the event because he wanted to avoid a reunion or reunion talks with his ex-girlfriend and co-star Kristen Stewart.
According to NY Post's Page Six, Robert Pattinson was expected to make an appearance during the screening of his latest movie "The Childhood of Leader." The movie made its debut at Venice Film Festival on Saturday, Sept. 5, 2015, but the actor remained absent.
It is said that the actor cancelled his trip because he was in Ireland where he was busy filming "The Lost City of Z" alongside Charlie Hunnam, Tom Holland and Sienna Miller. Some unnamed sources told the abovementioned website that the reason behind Pattinson's absence from Venice Film Festival is something else. The "Twilight" actor reportedly missed out on the important film event because he was avoiding Kristen Stewart, who was there to promote her film "Equals."
"He didn't want the story to be all about how he and Kristen were nearly bumping into each other," sources claims. "Venice is very small...and there are only so many parties and hotels."
Meanwhile, rumours claim Pattinson and his girlfriend FKA Twigs, also known as Tahliah Barnett, are "drifting apart." A source told People that the couple has been spending a lot of time apart due to their work commitments and busy schedule.
While Pattinson is busy filming "Lost City of Z" in Belfast, Twigs is in Los Angeles. According to the sources, the couple has "definitely drifted and have barely spoken" due to work pressure and distance. As for their wedding, it is "off the agenda" as of now. Rest assured, "they haven't called off the engagement."
Fans know years after his scandalous breakup with Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson started dating FKA Twigs and the couple got engaged earlier this year. Meanwhile, Twigs is spending more time with his friends reportedly at Pattinson's Los Angeles residence. "Rob has never been at ease with Twigs' entourage," according to the source.
It must be noted that the reports lack official comments from the associated persons. Thus the veracity of these claims remain uncertain. But it is sepculated that the distance between Pattinson and Twigs will grow further as Pattinson will be flying to Colombia where he will be filming for his movie in a jungle in October.
