Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles) has released the new big threat of "Supernatural" Season 11 after successfully removing the Mark of Cain on Dean's arm. "Supernatural" cast member Jensen Ackles and executive producer Jeremy Carver tease on the CW TV series' new big bad villain and the fate of the characters in the new season.
In the "Supernatural" Season 10 finale, Death (Julian Richings) explained that God defeated the Darkness and locked away the evil several years ago. According to Entertainment Weekly, Ackles revealed that "Supernatural" Season 11 will introduce the Darkness as one specific entity.
However, Ackles admitted that whatever the reach of the Darkness or what exactly the new character can do are still unknown. "We don't know the scope of her powers," Ackles stated.
Ackles further added that he finds the Darkness an interesting character in "Supernatural" Season 11 because she is not really a monster but more of a primal force. Unfortunately, the Winchester brothers, the angels as well as the demons know nothing about the Darkness.
Ackles teased that there is no lore, no guidebook and no instruction manual on how Sam and Dean will deal with the Darkness. Meanwhile, executive producer Jeremy Carver teased in an interview the fate of "Supernatural" characters Castiel (Misha Collins) and Crowley (Mark Sheppard) in the upcoming new season.
In an interview with TVLine, Carver shared that Castiel must find a way to get rid of the "Attack Dog Spell" that Rowena (Ruth Connell) has cast on him in the previous season's finale episode. However, Carver teased that Castiel will experience difficulties because the influence of Rowena's spell is going to bring the angel to a couple of uncomfortable situations.
As for the King of Hell, Carver revealed that Crowley will try to work out how to navigate the world with the Darkness roaming around and threatening pretty much everything. "Supernatural" returns with season 11 on Wednesday night, Oct. 7, at 9/8c on the CW Network.
