If the reports are anything to go by, the release of Google Nexus 6 (2015) could be delayed to 2016 because Huawei is making a dual-edge smartphone with a 2K display.
According to previous reports, the LG Nexus 5X and the Huawei Nexus 6 (2015) will open for pre-orders on October 13.
However, it now seems that the release of the phablet could be delayed until next year, because Chinese handset manufacturer Huawei is currently concentrating on making a dual-edge smartphone sporting a 2K display supplied by the South Korea-based Samsung, Geek Snack reported.
The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus and Galaxy S6 Edge has made the concept of smartphones with dual-edge display popular. At present, more smartphone makers are jumping on the dual-edge smartphone trend by trying to make devices with a similar feature.
According to reports, Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has been working on its Mi Edge smartphone that features a dual-edge display, while the South Korean company LG is also planning to come out with the LG G Edge smartphone.
Huawei's dual-edge smartphone will sport Samsung's quad HD screen with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels, Softpedia reported. However, at present, there is no information about the features and specs of the upcoming smartphone.
The Chinese manufacturer is planning to manufacture 3 million units of this smartphone every month. Reports suggest that the tech giant Google will confirm the delay of the new Nexus 6 (2015) smartphone due to Huawei's dual-edge phone sporting a 2K screen when it announces the Nexus 5X smartphone this September.
