"The Big Bang Theory" showrunner Steve Molaro recently talked about Penny and Leonard's wedding, and how their families would react to their union.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Molaro said that the couple's wedding will come as a surprise to their respective families, especially because it was not planned.
"This is going to be news to them because they eloped. Surprised is probably at the forefront of emotions for them. As for how they react, tune in and find out! We will be hearing and seeing Penny's dad, since he hears the news of her marriage," he said.
Meanwhile, Molaro also revealed how difficult it was to write the vows of each of the characters.
"Any time any big moments in the show are going on, tension rises in the writers' room, but I think we were all excited about this one ideal and all on the same page, and I think it turned out well or better than we could've possibly hoped for," he said.

"The Big Bang Theory" season 9 will also focus and Sheldon and Amy's reunion after they decided to end their relationship in season 8.
During that time, Amy thought that Sheldon was not serious about their relationship, and was not ready to bring it to the next level.
However, Sheldon took out a ring in the finale, and fans are speculating that it could be an engagement ring for Amy.
"The Big Bang Theory" season 9 will premiere on CBS on Sept. 21 at 8 p.m. ET.
