"Avengers: Infinity War" will have the Guardians of the Galaxy team-up with the Avengers and Captain Marvel is rumored to be the next leader of group in part 2.

The two-part Avengers film is rumored to feature every character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as they band together to stop the Mad Titan, Thanos (Josh Brolin) from using the Infinity Stones to take over the universe. One of these supposed characters include the Guardians of the Galaxy as they team-up with Earth's Mightiest Heroes to stop Thanos in Part 1, Venture Capital Post reported.

The Guardians of the Galaxy are heavily connected Thanos since they have encountered one of the six Infinity Stones, the Power Stone in the "Guardians of the Galaxy" film. The Collector (Benicio del Toro) explained that each individual stones are capable of annihilating a planet and with them combined will gain powers of near omnipotence and omniscience.

Brolin confirmed in an interview that Marvel plans to have Thanos take out everyone in the MCU using all six Infinity Stones.

"Captain America: The Winter Soldier" directors Anthony and Joe Russo stated that they intended to bring ten years of accumulative storytelling in "Avengers: Infinity War" turning it into an incredible climax, since everyone is gunning for Thanos in the films.

Aside from the Guardians of the Galaxy team-up, part 2 of the third installment will give rise to a new leader of Avengers.

It was theorized that three members of the Avengers will be "killed" during part 1 and these characters are Captain America (Chris Evans), Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) and Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Moviepilot reported.

Their deaths could strike a big blow to the Avengers as the three heroes are essentially of the core members of the group, but one hero will take the charge as Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel will lead the Avengers during the events of "Infinity War" part 2.

However, since Marvel Studios has not yet announce who will play Carol Danvers in the "Captain Marvel", it is safe to assume that several changes could happen since the phase 3 films will start next year.

"Avengers: Infinity War" part 1 is slated to be release on May 4, 2018, while part 2 is scheduled on May 3, 2019.
